GPHG 2017: Preselected Chopard Designer Watches
72 high-end luxury watches created by the best watchmakers have been preselected by the independent jury for the 2017 edition of the GPHG (Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneve). These exceptional timepieces are now competing to win one of the prestigious prizes rewarding the most outstanding Haute Horlogerie creations of the year. Among many worthy participating brands, Chopard stands out from the crowd, fielding six designer watches, four of which have been included in the list of finalists. 1. Chopard Imperiale Moonphase Ref. 384246-1001
With its beautiful 18k white gold case decorated with diamonds, shimmering mother-of-pearl dial, lavender blue color, and refinement of every little detail, the Chopard Imperiale Moonphase is a true embodiment of femininity and tenderness. Moreover, this luxury watch is the first in the iconic Imperiale collection to be equipped with a sophisticated moon phase complication. It is competing in the GPHG Ladies’ category.
2. Chopard L.U.C Full Strike Ref. 161947-5001
To mark the 20th anniversary of Chopard Manufacture, the company has released the L.U.C. Full Strike, the first Chopard minute repeater wristwatch entirely developed, produced, and assembled in-house. Equipped with an innovative hand-winding movement, the novelty chimes the hours, quarters, and minutes on sapphire gongs incorporated in the watch crystal, which provides a powerful and rich sound. This extraordinary 18k rose gold watch is competing in the Mechanical Exception category.
3. Chopard Lotus Blanc Watch Ref. 104420-9001
Inspired by an oriental flower, the Lotus Blanc Watch is all about a perfect combination of the Chopard’s jewelry expertise and watchmaking know-how. This fabulous ladies watch distinguished by an ingenious opening mechanism is made of platinum with titanium detailing and features thousands of white diamonds with a total weight of 25.66 carats. It is competing in the GPHG Jewellery category.
4. Chopard L.U.C XP Esprit de Fleurier Peony Ref. 131944-5002
Last but not least Chopard finalist is the L.U.C XP Esprit de Fleurier Peony competing in the Artistic Crafts category. Entirely crafted in the in-house workshops, this stunning 18k rose gold piece of Chopard designer watches is distinguished by its sculptured gold dial and self-winding mechanical movement, both decorated with the Fleurisanne engraving technique.
The winners of the 2017 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneve will be announced at the Prize-Giving ceremony in Geneva on November 8th. We are looking forward to seeing the Chopard’s results!
