Alpina
What do watches and sports (including what are known as extreme sports) like racing have in common? Think Alpina watches. Alpina has been synonymous with sports watches since its inception by Gottlieb Hauser. Hauser saw the need in 1883.
Watchmaker Hausser started the company with a specific plan. He approached other watch designers and convinced them to pool their talents as the Union Horlogere Suisse to make their mark in the luxury watch business.
The first Alpina was the Blockuhr. It featured a sturdy metal case and more functions than were standard in luxury watch in 1930. In that moment Soon after Alpina launched an automatic men’s watch called the 582. Soon after, Alpina created the first automatic watch for women. Talk about history!
Alpina watches encompass quartz, automatic of course, chronograph watches, and more types all the time. Popular? Think professional sports heroes, movie stars, other celebrities and more of the rich and famous. (Ever heard of Snoop Dogg or Laurence Fishburne, for example?)
Alpina knows how to get its name out there and a preferred venue is car racing. One race Alpine favors is America’s Sebring 12 Hour, which boasts drivers like Mario Andretti, Juan Manuel Fangio and Jo Bonnier.
As you can see, Alpine has definitely established itself a special player in the watch world.
A popular sports women’s watch is the Al-350LSSBS2A6. This quartz watch has durable characteristics which include a sapphire crystal, water resistance, and like all the Alpina models it has luminosity so that it can be visible during night hours.
Alpina watches has gained fame because they can withstand all kinds of inclement weather. Recently they launched a collection that is designed not only for sporting activities, but also for executives that enjoy nightlife, business dinners or any other social activity. We are talking about Alpina Genève Club Range – this watch has a chronograph and quartz movement. The collection also has an automatic version known as the Alpina Geneve Club Automatic. It is an excellent watch where the case is made of black, gold or pink gold toned stainless steel. And to finish this spectacular collection is the model Alpina Geneve Club Regulator Manufacture that is a delicacy to the eyes.
Alpina watches are no longer ordinary sports watches, now they are a luxury accessory for all those who feel the Alpina spirit. Their market is growing and has expanded in major cities of Europe and the Latin market.
