Corum Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 in Gunmetal Blue
A limited edition series of Admiral’s Cup Legend 42s were released from the house of Corum. For the last three decades, the watch line is featuring the metallic bluish shade that is specific to the line of watches. The model is available in two versions, either red gold or steel. Corum is creating 300 watches of the steel version and 100 of the red gold version.
How does Corum achieve the bluish shade on the case, lugs, crown guard, dial and the straps? PVD treatment is the secret behind this stylish metallic pigmentation. The dial will get noticed for the applied hour indices, nautical pennants embracing the inner bezel ring as well as the vertical guilloche finish. The finish of the bezel as well as the bracelet’s links adds to the perfection of the overall design.
The watch is powered by an automatic mechanical movement featuring an oscillating weight with the trademark Corum logo engraved on it. As the case back is see-through by design, the movement is visible to the user’s naked eyes.
History of the Corum Admiral’s Cup Collection
It was in 1960 that Corum introduced Admiral’s Cup series of watches for the very first time. Later, in 1983, they started using the current design format featuring 12 nautical pennants (from the maritime international code of signals) as hour-markers and the twelve-sided case. This version of the watch was a huge hit and helped Corum to become a profitable watch maker.
Over the years, Corum came out with various lines of watches like the Seafender, the Challenger, the Legend etc. The very last one is the Legend line that was released in the year 2011. The key features of the Legend line that helped it to become noticeable are the reduced size and softer angles, even when it does not deviate much from the original design aesthetics of Admiral’s Cup collection.
This unique collection of watches have completed half a century since their very first creation. The twelve sided bezel that is associated with the collection is its USP. The latest model from the watch maker is the Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 and is known for sportiness, aesthetics as well as accuracy. The effort taken on the part of the watch maker to make it in to a watch with softer angles has done wonders for the design. The CO-395 caliber that is powering the model is a reliable movement that has proven its mettle already.
The legend series has two models in it. They are the 42s and the 38s, based on the case size of the model. The Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 is definitely a macho watch worth wearing and would be loved by watch loving male population of the country.
What is the one thing that you notice easily on the watch model? The obvious change is the conversion of a well-known sports watch in to a formal watch. Unlike the other 44 mm watches from Admiral’s Cup series, these are only 42 mm in size. But, most people who place their hands on this limited edition model of designer watches would love the overall aesthetics incorporated in to the model.
The model is available from $ 3,600.
