LUMINOUS: A New Solo Exhibition by Vian Borchert on Artsy
“Luminous” is a new solo exhibition by Vian Borchert, presented by the London-based Opulent Art Gallery and available on Artsy. Featuring a selection of paintings by the internationally acclaimed abstract expressionist artist, it explores light as a quiet force of hope, renewal, and contemplation. Running from August 13 through August 28, 2026, “LUMINOUS” offers collectors an opportunity to discover Borchert’s distinctive approach to visual poetry.
Highlights of the Solo Exhibition by Vian Borchert
The new solo exhibition by Vian Borchert features over 40 works that demonstrate different aspects of Borchert’s artistic language. Among the highlights is Floral Mist (2022), which Artsy identifies as the exhibition’s “Collector’s Favourite.” The acrylic-on-canvas painting reflects Borchert’s atmospheric approach to abstraction and her interest in the expressive possibilities of color.
Another highlight is Columns of the Temple of Apollo (2025), which brings architectural inspiration into Borchert’s expressive visual language. A Sea of Flora (2022), meanwhile, reflects her enduring connection to nature through fluid forms and vibrant color. Together, the works complement the atmospheric and contemplative character of “LUMINOUS.”

The Role of Blue in Borchert’s Visual Language
Blue plays a central role in Borchert’s visual vocabulary. Her paintings draw inspiration from the sea, sky, and meditative qualities of nature, transforming them into atmospheric compositions where color becomes both landscape and emotion. Vian Borchert defines her art as a form of “visual poetry,” using expressive brushstrokes, lyrical color, intuition, and nostalgic memories to create open, luminous environments.
For Borchert, blue reflects the expansive beauty of nature while evoking inner worlds shaped by memories, imagination, and hope. This connection is particularly relevant to “LUMINOUS,” where light functions both as a physical presence and as a metaphor for clarity, resilience, and inner awakening. The exhibition brings these ideas together in paintings that encourage stillness, reflection, and optimism.
