Now, here is a made in England watch that is trying to change the expectations of watch lovers. Meridian Watches, a UK based watch maker has come out with their line of watches on the 8^th of November 2012. The people who saw the watch models did appreciate the effort taken by the watch maker. The Meridian slogan is ‘made in England, for the world’ and has a good chance of succeeding in their endeavor.

The watch maker has stressed a lot on all aspects of the watch making process. When you get this watch for the first time, you are definitely going to love the packaging. The double layer packaging has a canvas bag as the outer layer and a custom made canvas roll as the inside layer. The quality of the packaging would be a great start for your Meridian MP-05 experience.

Once you open the roll, you will see the watch, a spare canvas strap, spare bars and screws, Allen keys to change strap etc.

The design aesthetics incorporated in to the watch are top of the line. The only complaint that you may have is about the size of the strap. For such an impressive watch, they must have provided bigger straps. The quality of the leather used for the strap and the workmanship is good. But, the size of the strap is not proportional to the watch.

The watch maker christened their in house movement the ‘Meridian Prime Caliber’ and every aspect of it is handmade to perfection. The watches need to be wound manually. The watch maker uses 17 jewels in each of their movements. Once fully wound, the watch has a power reserve of 40 hours.

Meridian MP-05 watches and other models are contained in stainless steel case. The dial is black in color. It has a seconds sub dial at 9 O’ clock position. All Meridian watches are macho and big by nature. The story is the same about this 46 mm diameter watch as well. The entire watch making process is completed and its parts are obtained in UK itself.

The pleasing case back of the watch is engraved with the brand name, its logo, its motto (“made in England, for the world”) and the fact that it is “water resistant to 1000 ft.”

The watch’s front face has a UK made sapphire crystal perfectly crafted and applied with extra antireflective coating as per the standards followed by the UK military. Through the crystal, you can clearly see the dial without any hindrance at all. The legibility of the watch is very good and is second to none.

Sufficient quantity of lume is applied on the handmade hour hands, minute hands and markers. The second hands are not lumed and this can be the only flaw you can find on the watch.
