Tissot is a highly regarded watch maker who is actively engaged in the industry for some time now. It has come out with a limited edition watch based on the theme ice hockey. With this watch, Tissot is honoring the legendary captain of Tampa Bay Lightning, Steven Christopher Stamkos. Again, they are mentioning the role played by the Canadian professional ice hockey center in building players like Stamkos.
If you were not aware of it already, here is some info on the current Ambassador of Tissot. Steven Christopher Stamkos is the current ambassador of the watch maker. He is an explosive hockey player who lights up ice like no one else before him. His goal scoring ability is very well regarded by his peers as well as hockey coaches in the league. The new watch from Tissot is going to have the qualities of Stamkos like accuracy, sportiness and overall perfection.
The Tissot T-Sport PRS 200 Steven Stamkos 2012 Watch is built in a stainless steel case. The 41 mm by 12 mm case is the right size to fit the wrists of a macho guy like Stamkos. The watch sports a stainless steel bezel with Arabic numerals inscribed on it to denote time in increments of ten. The steel crown and the chronograph push buttons on the right adds to the overall elegance of the watch.
The sapphire crystal that is covering the dial is scratch proof and hence has the ability to protect the watch well. The color shades used on the watch dial are similar to what you find on the ice hockey floor where the blue and silver reflections are common. The seconds hand in red color does look great in silver back ground.
There are three sub dials on the watch dial. You can see the date window at 4 O’ clock position. The tenth of a second counter is located at 2 O’ clock position. At 10 O’ clock position, you can see the thirty minute chrono sub dial. The third sub dial at 6 O’ clock position is for displaying seconds. In order to give honor to Stamkos, his uniform color, blue, is used on the dial’s outer surface.
The Swiss quartz watch movement that is powering the watch is G10.211. The double shaded stainless steel bracelet is quite elegant with its butterfly clasp.
Stamkos’ jersey number, 91, is etched prominently on the case back. The serial number of the limited edition watch is also etched on the case back. The watch maker is selling only 910 watches of the model. In case you want to get the regular version of the watch, check out the Tissot PRS 200 Ice Hockey 2012 watch, which is pretty much the same watch, except for the different engravings seen on case back. Here, in place of Stamkos’ jersey number, the logo of International Hockey Federation is etched.
Tissot has been associated with International Ice Hockey for a while and is the official watch of the Ice Hockey World Championships. The Tissot T-Sport PRS 200 Steven Stamkos 2012 Watch is yet another proof of the watch maker’s commitment towards ice hockey.
