During the last year, IWC was focusing on the Pilot collection of watches. In the next year, they will be hitting the market with their Ingenieur collection of watches. In fact, they are coming out with two models of watches in this collection. They are the IWC Ingenieur Chronograph Racer and Silberpfeil. Let us get to the bottom of these models from the well-known watch maker.

Over the last year, IWC has been focusing on pilots and the airline industry and their specific horologic needs. They helped the sector significantly with the introduction of the Pilot collection of their watches. Now, they are coming out with another collection of watches for the year 2013, and are calling it the Ingeniuer collection. Does the name ring any bell? The word is the German term for engineer. Here, the watch maker is striving to add to the engineering capabilities of the watch in myriad ways. They are celebrating the hard work of the engineers through these watches. Mercedes AMG Petronas is working in tandem with IWC to come up with a variety of models of watches based on this theme. Two of the prominent watches in the range Racer and Silberpfeil are created with aspects of Formula One racing circuit and the thrills and frills from the racing arena.

IWC is known for its love to incorporate hard core engineering skills in to their watches. This passion and their collaboration with the international car racing circuit add to the excitement of the watch design. They do not just incorporate stylistic aspects of the race tracks or race cars in to the watch; they are actually making great use of the engineering excellence of the Formula One circuit to make the watch in to a marvel that can be worn on your wrists with pride!

You have two choices of the Ingenieur Chronograph Racer available for you in the market. One of these versions comes with a white dial, blue hands and red shades, and the second one feature a dark grey dial, black sub dials, silver hands and red shades. In both these versions, IWC is able to retain their DNA in the watches and neither of them is above board or too flashy for your liking.

Silberpfeil is a special edition watch from IWC which got its inspiration from the Mercedes Benz Silver Arrow car. The name stands for the German term for the phrase ‘silver arrow’. Silver Arrow W25 has been an integral part of many Formula One racing events throughout the years and some of these cars have actively participated even in the races at the latest edition of Goodwood Revival. The dials of these watches are created based on the inspiration gained from the dashboard designs of these amazing cars. As homage to this great racing car, the watch case back has an engraving of a silver arrow on it.

You can avail of this watch in two versions, either with a steel bracelet or with a combination strap with rubber and textile materials used on it.
