Halios 1000M DLC
The Halios 1000M DLC, also known as the “Puck”, is a large black diving watch that resembles a hockey puck. At 47 millimeters wide and almost 15 millimeters thick, it’s a large and heavy watch. It resembles a hockey puck, which is probably how it got the nickname. That seems appropriate, considering that Halios is a Canadian company. Much like the puck used in hockey, a dive watch has to be able to take a beating. This watch is definitely an tough one. The case is made of steel coated with diamond-like carbon (usually abbreviated as DLC), which makes is strong and resistant to scraps and scratches. It has a pretty big crown located at four o’clock. Inside this watch is the ETA 2824, an excellent movement in terms of reliability.
The dial is also black, and is glossier than the case itself. It has a triangle at twelve o’clock, and batons mark the rest of the hours. They are all coated in SuperLuminova. The hour and minute hands are very wide and are also luminescent. The second hand has a luminescent tip, but it’s much thinner and isn’t as bright as the other hands. The bezel is unidirectional and has a large orange arrow at 12 o’clock, a splash of color on this black and white (or green, as it appears when it glows) watch. The watch comes with two straps, an Isofrane strap and a black and white nylon strap.
