Kuyl Watches is Open for Business

Kuyl Brand watches from Netherlands were introduced to the world on June 15th.

Netherlands is well known for its famous painters, from Rembrandt van Rijn in the 17th century to Vincent van Gogh in the 19th century.  The famous painting of a “Girl with a Pearl Earring” by Johannes Vermeer is also Dutch. And so is this new pearl of an offering from the new brand Kuyl Watches, which was introduced to a number of watch journalists, enthusiasts, bloggers and friends on June 15th.

The brand held its opening reception at the Watch-Site boutique (official dealer) where the brand’s owner, Mr. Jan Jaap Kuyl, presented his first collection of timepieces.

Kuyl watches are modern, with very clean, and simple dials and a leather strap, but one thing that makes their offering different is the rather large case designed to attract young people. They are classic looking timepieces with a modern twist.

The focus of the collection is on the case, designed by Jan Jaap Kuyl himself and manufactured in Germany. The see through case back is screwed down and shows the Sellita SW200 Swiss movement. It also has engravings in Dutch and the Dutch motto (since 1815) ‘Je Maintiendrai’.

Our sources tell us that these watches offer a superb design and finish, are affordable, are mechanical, and interestingly enough, can be customized.

Yep, that’s right; Kuyl Watches are configurable by the buyer via their Kuyl Horloges website (currently only in Dutch), providing you with the opportunity to create for yourself or a loved one a unique watch.  You can decide on the type of bezel and on the color of the hands, dial and strap. You can also choose between a Shell Cordovan strap or an alligator strap. Every watch strap has a folding clasp, but if you prefer a buckle, one is also delivered.  It takes about two weeks for the watch to be assembled in Holland and all the parts are from Europe.

The case of the watches is in Stainless steel 316L, with a diameter of 44mm and a height of 11mm. The power reserve is of 38 hours, and the crystal is in sapphire.  It is water resistance to 5ATM / 50 meters and is priced at 1500 Euro.
