Longines HydroConquest Chronograph XL – A Unique Sports Watch

Longines HydroConquest Chronograph XL

One of the negatives of this watch is the very high crown to hand turning ratio. When setting the time, be prepared to spend some time and exert all of your energy at the task at hand. Your muscles might be sore after the exercise and to add insult to your injury, you may find that the watch hands haven’t moved any closer to the desired location!

Another problem that you may face is about the external pusher necessary to alter the date at 9 o’clock position. There should not be any problem with two positions on the crown. But, this problem will only be faced by those who wear the watch occasionally. If you wear it regularly, you will never face this problem. With proper care on your part, this reliable watch will serve you for a long time. As most watch makers are able to ensure the accuracy of their products, you need not worry about this aspect either. This is seen from the accuracy of the dirt cheap versions of 7750 movement based watches.

Some of you may have second thoughts about the location of the date window at 4.30 o’clock position. Again, this is a subjective matter and there can be people who love this position and an equal number who hate this location.

The case of the watch is made in a simple, but durable manner. The bezel that features raised numbers on them adds a level of luxury to the model. You can look at the model as an amped up version of a Rolex Yachtmaster. A bulky hourglass with wings medallion is inscribed on the case back and has semblances to the case back of Omega Seahorse medallion. The perfection of the hands and the balance are definitely worth the effort used on the part of the watch maker.

With its screw in crown in place, the manufacturer got the model rated to 300m. As the pushers are not screwed in, some of you may be wary of this claim. This rating can be good, but something that needs some testing on your part in real conditions, provided you want to take that risk!

This sports watch from Longines may not be liked by everyone. People who love big watches are going to admire this model. If you wear them on your wrists, you are certainly going to turn some heads in your direction. If you love to change your straps at regular intervals, this model with 24mm lugs is a great choice. You will be able to find any number of designs of straps for this size. With its bulky case, a thick strap would be appropriate to give overall balance. You can choose the watch either with a long rubber strap or a steel bracelet. Or, you can choose a strap that fits your color sense and personal preferences on your own. The price of the model is $3300 AUD and is a great deal for the big watch you are getting.
