Longines HydroConquest Chronograph XL – A Unique Sports Watch
Longines has a tradition of creating some quality sports watches for people who love to take part in adventurous activities. But, they took it slow during the past couple of decades and lost the edge they had in the sector. No, they have not gone of sports watch making completely. They did not engage in this niche of watch making whole heartedly. Now, with the reintroduction of the HydroConquest line, they are trying to regain their old glory back.
Once they decided to renew their line of sports watches, they went in full force and came out with various lines of products like Conquest, HydroConquest, Grand Vitesse and Admiral. You may be familiar with some of the names of these lines; but unlikely to be familiar with all of them.
When it comes to marketing these watches, they are creating separate ad campaigns for each of these lines and are pricing them distinctively. As a result of this smarter pricing strategy, you can gain great deals on these watches, even in comparison to major brands like Tag Heuer or Omega.
Before being taken over by the Swatch group, Longines was a reputed watch maker with the ability to matchup even with the likes of Omega. The watches created by the firm with their own in house watch movements were highly valued in the industry. They are still respected and valued; but are only one brand among the various brands under the same parent organization.
Probably due to its extra-large size (as is evident from the letters XL in name), Longines HydroConquest Chronograph XL is not seen much in public. According to many watch aficionados, out the sports watches from the house, this one is one of the best ones. Longines has been able to add class to this line of watches and is able to keep the brands name floating high.
This 47mm model is a macho watch that is pretty huge in size. Obviously, you have seen watches with more diameter than this one. But, in addition to its diameter, this model is quite thick as well. If you look at the added pounds of the stainless steel bracelet to the watch size, you can think about using it as dumb bells! The heavier size does not mean that there is anything wrong with its proportion. The proportion and balance of the watch is perfect because of the Valjoux 7753 movement. The design of the lugs is done in a way to suit even smaller wrists. Even when you wear this macho watch on your wrist, it will never look out of place.
