The August 11 Edition of New York City Estate Auction: Selected Lots
Here are some of the interesting items to consider.
Lot 7: 14k White Gold Diamond Solitaire Ring
Estimate: $2,000-$4,000
This exquisite ring is made of white gold and features one round brilliant-cut diamond (I-J color, VS2 clarity), which weighs approximately 0.7 carats. The ring’s size is 4 ¾ (US size).
Lot 51: E. Howard 14k White Gold Pocket Watch
Estimate: $2,500-$3,500
All fans of rare, collectible pocket watches should hold their breath and bid for this exclusive item produced by E. Howard Watch Co. The 14k white gold watch is open-faced and equipped with a silver dial. It features black Arabic numerals and black Gothic pointers. Its second dial is located at the six-o’clock position and is surrounded by a 60-second track. The watch also features a fancy engraving around its case, produced around 1920. The engraving indicates that the timepiece was presented to Jonas Ravsky by his staff in 1926.
Lot 114: British 1966 Elizabeth II Gold Sovereign Coin Set
Estimate: $1,500-$2,500
This set of two gold coins minted in 1966 features the image of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and St. George’s image on the reverse. The coins were produced of 22k gold alloy, with every coin containing 0.2354 troy ounces of gold.
Lot 81: Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Ginger Jar
Estimate: $1,000-$2,000
This porcelain ginger jar with a wooden lid is decorated with blue foliate scrollwork. Four lion masks are placed on the jar’s shoulders, and an inside part of the rim features three Chinese characters painted in red. The jar represents a rare example of Asian art, presumably of the Kangxi period.
