Founders of Pageant at the Kravis Studio Residency: August 2026

‘It’s Alive!’ Opening on August 1, 2026

 “It’s Alive!” celebrates a century of animation and explores the creative evolution of this influential art form across studios, filmmakers, and generations of artists. The group exhibition brings together more than 35 creators, highlighting New York’s role as a center of innovation in animation history.

Visitors will encounter nostalgic imagery of Felix the Cat, Koko the Clown, Gertie the Dinosaur, and many other iconic characters from the early days of animation. These historic works are presented alongside creations by Isadore Sparber, Mary Beams, Tissa David, and other important figures who shaped animated storytelling.

A separate section of the exhibition explores colorful animation designs from the 1930s, as well as recognizable visual languages developed for MTV, Public Television, and other influential media platforms.

Frida and Diego at the Museum of Modern Art in New York

The exhibition “Frida and Diego: The Last Dream” offers a completely different experience by celebrating the legacy of two Mexican art giants, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. This project marks the first collaboration between MoMA and the Metropolitan Opera, connecting the exhibition with the Met’s new production of El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego.

The Museum of Modern Art in New York presents works by Kahlo and Rivera in a setting designed by Jon Bausor, the Met’s costume designer, creating an immersive environment that combines visual art with theatrical elements.
