Christopher Ward’s W60 Coral Ladies Watch
It’s getting close to Valentine’s Day and Christopher Ward has a lovely ladies’ watch that might just be the perfect gift for any watch-loving woman you know. The W60 Coral watch is styled a lot like a dive watch, but it is only water resistant to 100 meters. Still, there are a lot of good things to say about this watch.
The case is 33 millimeters, a good size. Some women’s watches are just too small for legibility. There are three versions of the case, a steel case with a white ceramic bezel, a steel case with a black ceramic bezel, and a steel and gold-toned steel case with a white ceramic bezel. The style of the bezel is strongly reminiscent of a dive watch. The movement is a high-quality quartz movement made by Ronda, a Swiss company.
The dial elements are also very much styled after those on a dive watch. The hour markers are rimmed white dots. There is a small date window at six o’clock, and the other quarters are marked with batons, 12 o’clock having a double baton. The minute hand is a little bit wide and is shaped like a sword. The hour hand starts in a thin metal stick, but it topped by what looks like a white flame. The second hand is long and thin, and has a trident at one end (not the end that points to the seconds, that would be too confusing).
This watch makes a great everyday piece for just about any woman. It’s basically a sport watch, but the style has been taken up a notch, making it sort of a dress watch, too. The one with the white ceramic bezel can definitely be worn with just about any outfit and look fabulous. The black one probably can as well, but the white just looks great with so many colors! With its legibility, its elegance, and its versatility, this is a watch nearly any woman is sure to love.
