Culturally Arts Collective Presents “In Liminal Light: The Space Between”
On May 1, Culturally Arts Collective opened a new virtual group exhibition at the Milostka Center for Exhibitions. The captivating show, titled “In Liminal Light: The Space Between,” unifies cutting-edge art pieces by twenty artists from ten countries and four continents. The exhibition is on view through July 31, 2025. Read on to find the details.
What Is “In Liminal Light: The Space Between” About?
The exhibition, created under the artistic direction of Isabell Sliwinski and curatorial guidance of Abigail Bruno and Isabelle Grace Brett, maps a vibrant landscape of ambiguities related to human existence. The artists used an intricate interplay of light and shadow to create a unique atmosphere of fusing reality and imagination at the points where the eternal and the ephemeral come to converge.
Artworks framing the exhibition come in a variety of creative media, from traditional oil, acrylic, and watercolor paints to wood, metal, and glass. Among the exhibits are Christopher Liu’s intricate metalwork and Xenia Gray’s layered oil and charcoal compositions. Visitors will also appreciate art pieces by Jordan Model, which reveal the untrodden paths of the human condition and invite the audience to reflect on the instances of liminality, the state of being ‘in-between,’ as a new approach to mapping reality.
The Exhibition’s Statement
According to the curators of “In Liminal Light: The Space Between,” the exhibition is intended to pay tribute to the power of art as a medium for in-depth human introspection and connection. It offers visitors to embrace the versatility of perspectives taken by artists to bridge their individual experiences with broader community narratives and to see art as a tool of social unity around eternal, universal themes.
