watch Maurice Lacroix

Maurice Lacroix is a Swiss watchmaking group that originally was part of Desco von Schulthess of Zurich. Desco is a well-known silk producer with deep roots in the watchmaking industry. Eventually Maurice Lacroix became so successful that Desco’s factory stopped producing for private label watch brands. The factory was dedicated to the Maurice Lacroix brand which doesn’t refer to any one individual.

Maruice Lacroix acquired case maker Queloz S.A in 1989. It’s very rare for a watch group to have an in house case maker as most purchase from outside companies. By the 1990’s Maurice Lacroix’s popularity was at an all-time high. The company had enough confidence to launch their high end line titled the Masterpiece line. Maurice Lacroix was able to join megabrands at the top of the list of high end Swiss watch makers.  The Masterpiece line features watches and movements that are made solely by the Maurice Lacroix brand.

As of 2001 Maurice Lacroix has become an independent entity which is considered extremely rare in the watchmaking world. Maurice Lacroix wristwatches start in the $3,000 range which is low for a luxury watch. Wristwatches in the Masterpiece collection are collectible and quite valuable for any serious collection. If you are seeking a classy, elegant, and precisely made wristwatch don’t hesitate to check out Maurice Lacroix.
