Omega watches have been around for 165 years

Omega watches are the favorite ones of agent 007, the famous British fictional spy, who wear it on his wrists during many of his famous adventures in to various parts of the globe. Besides James Bond, Omega watches do have many other hard core fans among watch lovers. The watchmaker is currently in the 165th year of their active business operation. The legendary Swiss watchmaker is constantly striving hard to come up with new additions to their line of luxury watches.

Recently in San Francisco, Omega watches launched the fourth version of the limited edition America’s Cup timepiece with Emirates Team New Zealand. At 44 mm in size, the watch is a macho addition to their stable. The watch case is made of stainless steel. The bezel of the watch is made of ceramic. The watch can resist water pressure up to a depth of 300 meters. This chronograph watch has a helium escape valve.

Omega watches decided to opt to mark a 5 minute regatta scale on the chronograph in place of the 5 minute count down complication traditionally seen in other regatta models. Some of you may have second thoughts on this design change by the watchmaker. But, the chronograph nature of the watch is benefitting with this design innovation.

The helium escape valve of the Omega Seamaster Diver ETNZ limited edition is located at 10 O’ clock position. Again, Omega watches let you unscrew the helium escape valve and gain access to a date pusher which is capable of advancing the date located at 6 O’ clock position.

Omega watches uses a Co-Axial caliber 3330 watch movement with a Si14 silicon balance spring to control the watch and its functions. Basically, this watch caliber is a modified version of an ETA 2892 base model with chronograph feature added to it. Does the co-axial escapement and silicon balance compromise the watch’s quality and longevity? With Omega being the watchmaker behind it, this is unlikely to happen. Omega watches are always proud of their creations and is offering a four year warranty on this model.

Omega watches will limit the production of this timepiece to only a few

Omega watches provides you with two choices of straps for the Seamaster Diver ETNZ limited edition. You can either opt for the steel bracelet or the rubber strap. Again, the watchmaker has included a strap changing tool along with the watch box. Each watch among the 2013 watches created in the limited edition model would have its corresponding number etched on its case back. The asking price for the watch would be around $6,000.
