“Reflections of a Greater Realm” at the Milotska Center for Exhibitions
The online exhibition “Reflections of a Greater Realm,” held at the Milotska Center for Exhibitions, brings together 37 hand-picked art objects by 25 artists from around the world to celebrate multi-disciplinary art in the best tradition of the digital replication projects by Culturally Arts Collective.
Curatorial Statement for “Reflections of a Greater Realm”
The exhibition’s curators offer a creative reconceptualization of the historical role of art as a window or mirror into reality. Before the advent of Baroque and Romanticism, art used to play a purely functional role, from political to religious. However, the 18th and 19th-century developments made art more independent and gave it a new philosophical angle, allowing creative experimentation with fantasy, dreamlike images, and themes.
“Reflections of a Greater Realm” approaches this subject through an unusual contemporary perspective, with the threshold between the real and the surreal becoming fuzzier and more subjective. Art pieces presented at the exhibition are shaped by mythology, illusion, and individual perceptual twists, which erase time and reality boundaries to welcome viewers into the unlimited world of the imagined. None of the artists contends for the presentation of absolute truth; their goal is to explore and expand the spectrum of possibilities.
Participating Artists
The artist lineup in the exhibition is impressive. Among the featured artworks are a delicate crystal boat by Steve Jensen, an acrylic collage by Ronis Varlaam, and dreamlike oil paintings on wood by Victoria Koursaros. Paintings by Lawrence Aarons, the blend of ancient mysticism and contemporary abstract expressionism in the work of Jason Jeffers, and Charlene Huang’s Rococo reinterpretations won’t leave anyone indifferent too.
The viewers will also appreciate the contemporary Surrealist art of Yuqing Wu, a work by Chloe Epstein, created at the intersection of painting, illustration, and printmaking, and Michael Tole’s impressive figurative paintings. Among other participating artists are Brian Hallas, Anastasia Gladkova, Natalie Wu, Jennifer L’Insalata, and Fernando Mazoco. These names shape a unique profile of the group exhibition, with a versatile set of original perspectives and reinterpretations of the real.
“Reflections of a Greater Realm” is on view through May 31, 2026.
