Sandy Cohen’s Bridgehampton Solo Exhibition Is Now Available Online
Culturally Arts Collective has presented a new exhibition replication at the digital Hanbell Gallery. Titled “Boys Wanna Get With Me, Girls Wanna Get With Me,” it is a solo exhibition by Sandy Cohen, featuring many iconic works by the established artist.
Sandy Cohen’s Solo Exhibition
Sandy Cohen’s new solo show was first presented on June 7, 2025, at Stella Flame Gallery in Bridgehampton, NY. The name of the exhibition is a line from lyrics written by the artist’s sister, Fame Cohen, a talented musician who passed away in 2022. The exhibition includes some of Cohen’s earlier works, such as Sex (2017), Drugs (2017), and Candy (2017), along with her recent creations – Fukushima Flowers (2025) and Let’s Make Lots of Money (Under the Table) (2024), among others.
According to the artist, “Boys Wanna Get With Me, Girls Wanna Get With Me” was designed with political ideas and intentions, and its overlap with Pride Month in the US was also not accidental. Besides the art show, Sandy Cohen announced the launch of a limited-edition apparel collection under the title FAME, which is also dedicated to her sister.
Cohen’s Artistic Path and Biography
Sandy Cohen is a living testimony to the strength and resilience of the human spirit. The artist was born in Israel, with her family moving to the US and raising their daughter in New York. As a child, Cohen was a natural gem who won spots in the adults-only programs of the state’s most prestigious educational institutions. Later, she received unique apprenticeship experience by working with Peter Max.
A disaster broke into Sandy Cohen’s life before she reached her 20s, with a devastating neurological condition developing as a result of her adverse reaction to antibiotics. The artist remained bedridden for years, with her mobility limited to a wheelchair. However, after spending many years fighting the health condition and overcoming the crisis, Cohen finally re-emerged in the art scene in 2017.
