SCOPE Miami Beach 2023: A Week-Long Celebration of Contemporary Art
Every year, Miami and Miami Beach become the hottest destinations for art enthusiasts from all over the world. Miami Art Week 2023 traditionally takes place during the first days of December and spans Greater Miami and Miami Beach. The most important art event in the country is in full bloom, and locals and guests to the area are hurrying to fit as many shows and fairs as possible into their busy schedules. While each art venue has something worth seeing, if there is only one thing you can do while in the Miami metropolitan area, let it be visiting SCOPE Miami Beach 2023.
SCOPE Miami Beach 2023: A Week-Long Celebration of Contemporary Art
SCOPE Art Show is one of the biggest art fairs in the world. Its first edition was held in New York with only 28 featured galleries, in stark contrast to SCOPE Miami Beach 2023, which exhibits over 150 participants. SCOPE is a true giant in the global artistic landscape, with events in Miami, New York, and Basel, Switzerland, annually gathering dozens of thousands of visitors. The fair is on view until December 10, so we highly recommend that you leave some free time for it in your schedule. Here are the highlights of the ongoing exhibition to lure you in.
SCOPE Art Show 2023 Highlights
Following the tradition of being at the forefront of the contemporary art scene, SCOPE Art Show’s program, The New Contemporary, is dedicated to the latest artistic projects. This sector showcases large-scale installations, reflecting the diversity of mediums and approaches in the modern art world. The biggest artwork at the show, a humongous 25-foot-tall, 20-foot-long sculpture by BK Adams, will immediately catch your eye. Titled The Messenger, Time, A Blue (collar) Horse, the piece references the mythological Trojan horse.
300Magazine’s personal favorite is an interactive installation by Lucy Sparrow. Her Feltz Bagels looks exactly like the interior design of a regular bagel shop, a staple of New York cuisine. The only difference is that all bagels and toppings are made from felt. Lucy Sparrow invites you to remember what it was like to play kitchen as a child.
Of course, this is only a fraction of what you should expect from SCOPE Miami Beach 2023. Canvases comprised of children’s toys, marble sculptures of cigarettes, and gigantic open-air murals — there is no way of predicting what you will see next while exploring the fair bespoke pavilion. Visit SCOPE 2023 at 801 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, and see for yourself.
