Swiss based watch manufacturer Tissot has released their latest chronograph, the SeaStar 1000 Professional Automatic Chronograph Valjoux watch. This model is a new, limited edition addition to their 2011 SeaStar 1000 Automatic Chronograph. You may be wondering what the difference is between the two. The original SeaStar is equipped with a c01.211 caliber movement. The new Valjoux boasts a 7750 automatic caliber. The upgrades don’t stop their though.
The Valjoux comes with a gold rotor. Yes, gold as in real gold. It also displays traditional functions such as the hours, minute and small seconds. Not to mention you also get the date and day displayed and chronograph capabilities. The movement is Swiss made which assures the absolute highest standard of quality and longevity for this watch. It also boasts 40 hours of power reserve and a 25 jewel mechanism which you can see through the back.
The case of the watch has synthetic sapphire crystal and anti-reflective coating. This means you will have clear visibility of the time no matter what. Sapphire also camouflages scratches and imperfections on the case so the watch will always look its best. This model also has three skeleton style dials. They are also coated in a luminescent material that makes them stand out in dark lighting. The Valjoux confidently has the word professional inscribed on the face plate. The 2011 model has the word automatic inscribed. It is also water pressure resistant up to 300 meters which is roughly 1,000 feet thanks to the sapphire. The Valjoux was literally made for a sea star. It proves that divers and water junkies can have style, luxury, and Swiss made quality in an active lifestyle. To further prove this point Tissot included built in helium valve so divers can automatically depressurize the watch.
The Valjoux is slightly bigger due to the larger movement. It’s definitely a step up from the SeaStar Automatic in terms of capabilities and accuracy. The SeaStar 1000 Professional Automatic Chronograph Valjoux has been released with a limited quantity of only 1,000 models available to the public. For serious collectors and divers this one is a must have.
