SEMIRA’s New Exhibition in Munich: Highlights of “My World”

A large-scale solo exhibition by Iryna Fedorenko, aka SEMIRA, titled Meine Welt (My World), opened at SchauRaum im Ackermannbogen in Munich on April 29. The exhibition carries deep symbolic meaning for the artist and reflects her creative evolution over the past decades. Its opening coincided with SEMIRA’s birthday, turning the event into a highly personal milestone.

The show features both recognizable signature works by SEMIRA and her recent experiments with digital art fusion and light installations.

My World: A Decades-Long Artistic Journey

At the heart of My World lies Iryna Fedorenko’s reflective exploration of her artistic path over the past twenty years. The title itself carries a cyclical meaning, referencing her very first exhibition held at her alma mater—the Museum of Pryazovskyi State Technical University.

Two decades later, this new iteration of Meine Welt presents a more mature and expansive vision of SEMIRA’s artistic identity, marking her evolution into an internationally recognized artist with a well-established creative voice.

Taken together, the works featured in the exhibition express SEMIRA’s broader philosophical concept of personal transformation through art.

Exhibition Highlights

One of the most conceptually significant works in the exhibition is The Red Queen—a painting that Iryna took with her when leaving Ukraine after the onset of the Russian invasion in 2022. It has also been shown at the Museum of Kyiv and holds profound personal value for SEMIRA, symbolizing resilience, inner strength, and endurance during periods of radical life change.

Another key highlight is SEMIRA’s light installation, representing her recent experimental direction and artistic evolution. In recent years, Iryna Fedorenko has increasingly explored the fusion of traditional painting with digital media, and her immersive works stand out for their emotional depth and symbolic layering.

SEMIRA’s Recent and Upcoming Art Activity

SEMIRA remains actively involved in both regional and international art initiatives. Her recent achievements include the co-curation project Athletes of Art at Milano Cortina 2026, as well as the presentation of the Ukrainian-Italian documentary OCCHI DELL’UMANITÀ (Eyes of Humanity) at the Italian office of the European Parliament.

She is also currently preparing the upcoming exhibition Der Grund, scheduled for the 2026 International Festival of Contemporary Art TRACE.

Alongside her artistic practice, SEMIRA is engaged in academic and research work in the field of contemporary art. These studies add conceptual depth to her exhibitions and allow her to connect broader cultural and philosophical themes with a wider audience.
