About TAAG Gallery

Tribes Art Africa Gallery (TAAG Gallery) is an ambitious charity-operated project dedicated to the promotion of African art, which mainly showcases artwork via digital channels. As the name suggests, the gallery’s major focus in its curatorial projects and exhibitions is on the African talents, both established and emerging. TAAG Gallery works toward sharing unique African art heritage and encouraging the global appreciation of contemporary artistic expression among African creatives.

TAAG Gallery has been active in the local and international art scene, offering relevant cultural commentary and providing immersive, interactive experiences for audiences. One of its latest important collaborations was with Foundations 2025, a curated showcase uniting 85 galleries from dozens of countries to encourage the visibility of emerging contemporary talent. The event took place on July 14 – August 8, 2025, giving the artists supported by TAAG Gallery a great chance to connect with avid African art collectors.

Main Highlights of “Contours of Being”

TAAG Gallery’s “Contours of Being” features some of the latest paintings by talented contemporary artists from Nigeria: Duke Chinedu Mark, David Okoi, and Toba Kayode Samuel. The three creatives showcase a variety of painting techniques, from ballpoint pen to oil and acrylic, to set out on a deeply spiritual journey of identity, memory, and resilience exploration. They tap into the lived experiences of a new generation to see how the traces of the past come to the fore and how new minds reinterpret and remake their identities for the sake of progress.
