Crypto Wars: The First-Ever NFT Museum to Document the Horrors of War
Last year, no one could have imagined that the crypto market would become one of the fronts of real wars. Recently, Ukraine has launched the NFT museum that will fight Russia’s disinformation and help the country fund the war effort. Earlier this month, the Ukrainian government started accepting several cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, to support its fight against the invaders. How did NFTs become the war resources, and why does it matter?
Crypto Wars: The First-Ever NFT Museum to Document the Horrors of War
Since the beginning of the year, the NFT art industry has been continuing its digital crusade in the world of art. With the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war, a lot of contemporary artists supported the fight against violence and were creating artworks to show their solidarity with the Ukrainian people. Digital artists were most effective, as their hope-inspiring pictures were shared on the platforms such as Twitter and Facebook.
A “wow” moment occurred when Ukraine stepped into the crypto space deeper and announced the establishment of the NFT museum with the name “Meta History: Museum of War.” This NFT project has encompassed the Ukrainian NFT artists’ community that will be creating and issuing non-fungible tokens to support its country. As of today, it has sold about 1,150 artworks, while the sales go on.
Right now, many people see the potential of NFT art as one of the cutting-edge innovations in the global world. One can justifiably assume that such changes will positively influence the digital art market. Every art lover who wants to support Ukraine or any other country can do it without any problems. That fact does highlight the positive sides of the NFT market and crypto-based art overall. Whether this trend will grow and transform into something bigger or just perish with time is still debatable.
