Platform 101 Is Back with a New Exhibition of Video Glitch Art
On September 27, Platform 101, a unique Iranian project dedicated to digital art, will open “Geometry of Creation: Analysis of Anti-Rhythmic Structures,” a new exhibition of video glitch art, which taps into the themes of order and chaos, structure and disintegration, and complexity of visual patterns.
Curated by Mohammad Ali Famori and Ramin Saeidian, the exhibition is consistent with the broader philosophy of Platform 101, which emphasizes the nuanced role of visual language and semiotics of patterned structures in contemporary glitch art. The show will be on view at E1 Art Gallery in Tehran through October 11, 2024, welcoming all fans of contemporary art to enter thought-provoking dialogues on visual esthetics of chaos with the presented artworks and their creators.
Platform 101: Promoters of Video Glitch Art
“Geometry of Creation: Analysis of Anti-Rhythmic Structures” is the new edition of Platform 101’s creative and intellectual journey toward broadening the visibility and outreach of glitch art as such and Iranian art and artists, in particular. The institution targets glitch art popularization and consistent conceptualization from the viewpoint of esthetic value and academic scrutiny. According to the organizers’ vision, “Geometry of Creation” is expected to evoke reflections on the anti-rhythmic elements of contemporary reality and human existence. Some of the presented artworks also explore the interplay of life and movement embodied in fractal designs.

“Geometry of Creation” features video glitch art pieces by 23 Iranian and 21 foreign artists from 12 countries. The Creative Concept of Platform 101
Mohammad Ali Famori, one of Platform 101’s founders, is the author of the “Glitch: Pixel Language” manifesto that attempts to structuralize the techniques, methods, and visual language of glitch art. The upcoming exhibition continues the institution’s intellectual quest for a nuanced understanding of non-linear, anti-rhythmic structures in contemporary artistic expression.
