Platform 101: Commitment to Glitch Esthetics in Art

“Vol.05: Hidden Geometry & Glitch Art,” which runs at Rischee29 Art Gallery in Tehran, Iran, is a new page in the activities of Platform 101, a non-profit art organization committed to the promotion of video and glitch art. The entity persistently builds a structured community of contemporary interdisciplinary artists to give form to a once fragmented and sporadic video art movement in Iran and the Middle East. The main activities of Platform 101 revolve around promoting a meaningful dialog in local and international digital art.

The organization’s primary interest lies in the promotion of glitch art, a novel approach to interrogating the boundaries of traditional art esthetics through the exploration of semantic implications of disorder, collapse, and chaos. Platform 101’s projects focus on artwork that aims to embrace discontinuity and destruction and present it through an innovative digital pixel structure.
